Thank you for your interest in “Writing Model Essays”, gr8-12’s.
WHY
Essay writing does not seem to be covered sufficiently in the current school curriculum.
A lot of students’ final grade get pulled down by their Afrikaans mark. Writing can make out up to 40% of a student’s total mark, so this is absolutely WORTH some extra attention and efforts.
Working on your TOP ESSAY is invaluable and a strategy used by top academic scorers. This essay can be memorized and adjusted over the years, according to the TOPIC given.
CONTENT
12 x carefully compiled lists of useful documents/vocabulary will be posted on the chit-chat website for using in your essays.
YOU NEED TO
Write 2 essays of 250-300 words:
a) One in the past tense (verlede tyd) “Daardie dag sal ek nooit vergeet nie”
b) One in the present tense (teenwoordige tyd) “My rolmodel” or “My grootste
droom.”

Please pay extra attention to the following: content, planning, vocabulary, punctuation, grammar, spelling.
INPUT FROM TUTOR
You will be allocated a tutor to coach you remotely until your essay is top notch. Your tutor will guide you through any corrections needed as well as how to improve your essay. In NO way, shape or form will the tutor write this FOR YOU. The role of the tutor is simply to coach you towards your very OWN top essay. The best way to view this as a Remote extra Afrikaans lesson. Communication/coaching will take place via e-mail and/or whatsapp audio clips.
TIME LIMIT
You will have 2 weeks to complete your top essays – one week per essay.
AUDIO
The most important part would be to memorize your essay and send your tutor an audio clip. (This is optional, but after all this is our final aim to encourage you to recall your beautiful piece of writing whenever you need it!)
BE SMART
Please remember you can use these essays as orals as well. We want your favorite sayings/phrases to start mulling in your head repeatedly!
COST
Upon confirmation of your R400 EFT, you will receive a link and code to all the necessary documents and you will be put in touch with a tutor to be part of this exciting endeavor. Kindly note that all documents are the intellectual property of Chit-Chat Afrikaans. Do not distribute.
